WHAT PAST PARTICIPANTS HAVE SAID

Farrukh Azimov

participant of the programme in 2017, ‘Oylik.uz’ project

‘‘

The ‘Startup Initiative’ project helped me to take a fresh look at business development, to learn how to identify potential problems of consumers, and thus open up new business opportunities. Our team received a lot of useful tips for our startup development, which helps to avoid mistakes, to assess financial capabilities and project prospects. During the programme we also learned to pitch our projects to potential investors. The most important thing in the project is that we have found a lot of new friends and useful contacts who help to move forward today. Even a year later the organizers of the programme are in contact with us and help us to develop our skills and our project.

‘‘

Charos Abdukayumova

participant of the programme in 2017, ‘Event tech Solution’ project

‘‘

Initially, we submitted the application with another project, but after studying the problem and our needs, we realized that the idea we had did not make sense at all. During the work with our mentor (Aziz Rakhimov) we came up with a new idea and started work in this way.

What did the programme give us? We have learned not just to think, but to act, to think flexibly and react quickly. We realized that the most important issue is the Team! You can have super software engineers, but they are not good at selling or even at accounting. When you hear this idea you can’t believe and think that you will cope with everything! But in reality it is not always possible. The main conclusion for me is not to be afraid! Go forward, you can move slowly, but move! This is important!

participant of the programme in 2017, ‘Aroba.uz’ project

‘‘

This programme provided us with much more support and experience than we even expected. Starting with the first stages of the programme, successful entrepreneurs and experts of Uzbekistan conducted for us master classes and practical expert sessions that helped us in a short time to realize our project in a qualitative way. During the ‘Startup Initiative’ programme with the support of our mentor Usmon Rakhimjanov, we managed to turn our idea into a finished product, became the finalists at ‘Demo Day’. We were approached by several investors who were ready to finance our project. Among them we chose an investor with the most suitable conditions and today we work with them. With the help of the aroba.uz platform, we bring the service of intercity taxi of Uzbekistan to a new level, working with about 500 drivers.
